Purpose of a Power Supply

The purpose of a power supply (or a PSU) in a computer is to convert AC power to a low-voltage regulated DC power for the internal components of a computer. This allows all of your components in your computer to be powered at their right power requirements, when you build a computer you need to make sure your power supply has enough wattage to power all the part in your computer, also mkae sure you take this into consideration if you upgrade any parts in your computer to make sure you will have enough power to ran it along with all the other components in your computer. Modern personal computers (PC) universally use switched-mode power supplies. Some power supplies have a manual switches for selecting input voltage, while others automatically adapt to the main voltage.
